A New Approach to Recruitment<\/strong><\/p>\n

McDonald’s is using Snapchat to recruit teenagers. It needs to fill around 250,000 positions over the summer months and has taken a different approach to reaching out to the potential candidates. More than half of their workers are aged 16-24, so the fast food giant is sending out 10 second video ads showing how great it is to work there, which directs interested candidates to a link where they can fill out an application. Susan Hay, founder of the career coaching firm Launching U, pointed out what a smart move is was to show teenagers that they are aware of how to connect with them. McDonald’s calls it ‘Snaplications’ and it could prove invaluable when trying to tempt young workers who spend a lot of time on phones.<\/p>\n
