{"id":188,"date":"2015-02-08T06:30:16","date_gmt":"2015-02-08T14:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sintelsystemspos.com\/?p=188"},"modified":"2015-01-29T12:30:41","modified_gmt":"2015-01-29T20:30:41","slug":"is-having-a-mobile-ecommerce-platform-necessary-for-todays-cross-channel-luxury-shopper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sintelsystemspos.com\/es\/is-having-a-mobile-ecommerce-platform-necessary-for-todays-cross-channel-luxury-shopper\/","title":{"rendered":"Is Having a Mobile Ecommerce Platform Necessary for Today\u2019s Cross-Channel Luxury Shopper?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Is Having a Mobile Ecommerce Platform Necessary for Today\u2019s Cross-Channel Luxury Shopper?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sintelsystems.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/5-great-smartphone-apps-for-the-business-owner\/istock_000018635994xsmall\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4246\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4246\" title=\"iStock_000018635994XSmall\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sintelsystems.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/iStock_000018635994XSmall-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t have a mobile strategy, you don\u2019t have a future strategy,\u201d said Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google.<\/p>\n<p>While luxury retailers have been slow to assimilate their target market&#8217;s browsing and purchasing habits, The Luxury Retailer\u2019s Guide to Agile Commerce has determined that this demographic has higher expectations for the brand mobile experience than other online shoppers.<\/p>\n<p>Citing data from England&#8217;s Forrester Research,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.luxurydaily.com\/51pc-of-us-luxury-shoppers-expect-brand-mobile-site-forrester-research\/\">Luxury Daily<\/a>\u00a0reports: \u00abLuxury marketers should explore ways to cross research and purchase channels in a manner that fulfills the needs of the savvy luxury shopper, both online and universally.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>New findings have determined that luxury shoppers are:<\/p>\n<p>-Using multiple devices during the online and offline shopping experience;<\/p>\n<p>-Younger than the average online shopper;<\/p>\n<p>-More likely to share personal content and commentary via social media than the average online adult;<\/p>\n<p>-Have higher expectations for the mobile shopping experience.<\/p>\n<p>Proactive marketers who combine commerce and great content while intersecting all channels will be most relevant to these savvy shoppers.<\/p>\n<p>Statistics also show that:<\/p>\n<p>-17% of luxury online shoppers have visited a retailer\u2019s social media page in the past three months.<\/p>\n<p>-On the mobile channel, 59 % of U.S. luxury online shoppers have made a purchase via a mobile site or application in comparison to 12 percent of all smartphone users.<\/p>\n<p>-51% of luxury shoppers expect optimized, agile sites incorporating digital, mobile and social media to assist in their shopping experience, and expect the retailer to have a mobile website.<\/p>\n<p>-49% of luxury shoppers expect the retailer to have a mobile app, 43% expect to be able to purchase products\/services on a retailer\u2019s mobile website\/app, and 35% expect to find the same assortment of products\/services on a retailer\u2019s mobile site\/app as its desktop site.<\/p>\n<p>-U.S. luxury online shoppers who use a tablet are much more likely to use the device to make offline purchasing decisions. Twenty-six percent of these shoppers own a tablet, whereas 16 percent of U.S. Web users do.<\/p>\n<p>Luxury retailers including Oscar de la Renta, Gucci and Burberry have pioneered smart multi-channel programs.
