– The technology employees use at home and increasingly at the office, including mobile apps and social media via smart phones and tablets, Software as a Service (SaaS), Anything as a Service (XaaS), and cloud computing, is here to stay. \u00abIn early 2010, there were 150,000 apps just in the Apple store,\u00bb Burrus writes. \u00abNow, Apple has over 450,000 apps with billions of downloads and that does not count the hundreds of thousands of other apps you can download from companies like Google.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Burrus says, \u00abToday\u2019s gigantic technological shift is already taking place, and the last people who should miss it are today\u2019s business leaders.\u00bb Companies need to use modern technology to \u00abredefine who they are, what they offer and how they offer it,\u00bb he writes. \u00abAs a result, by using technology effectively, your company can create new products, new services, and entire new markets \u2014 something technology couldn\u2019t readily do in the past.\u00bb<\/p>\n

– First, Burrus says to look at your products, services and industry, and ask yourself these key questions:<\/p>\n
