\"Chipotle's<\/a>For the first time ever, Chipotle Mexican Grill will host a National Career Day to hire 4,000 new employees. Stores across the country will open early for interviews of up to 60 applicants.<\/p>\n

The massive hiring event will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2015.<\/p>\n

The assembly line concept QSR (Quick Service Restaurant<\/a>) employs more than 60,000 Americans.<\/p>\n

If the targeted goal is reached, Chipotle’s workforce will increase by 6.7 percent.<\/p>\n

New employees will begin at entry level positions making an average of $10 dollars per hour plus added compensations.<\/p>\n

Chipotle is seeking to attract potential applicants with various benefits and opportunity for advancement within company ranks. Benefits include 401(K), tuition reimbursements, and paid vacations.<\/p>\n

The Mexican Grill chain largely promotes from within. A company press release revealed 95% of managers are elevated from lower ranks and 10,000 entry-level workers had been promoted in the past year. It takes approximately 20 months for a beginning employee to become general manager, according to Chipotle’s spokesperson, Chris Arnold.<\/p>\n

A stronger economy prompts workers to pursue higher paying jobs; thus, creating a shortage of applicants seeking minimum wage positions.<\/p>\n

To make up for the shortage of viable workers, companies including McDonald’s and Starbucks have increased wages or extended employee benefits.<\/p>\n

Some companies have resisted the push of government wage hikes arguing the fast food<\/a> industry, who employs mostly teen workers, is regularly the midpoint for young workers progressing into different careers and industries.<\/p>\n

As for Chipotle’s take, they believe in hiring people for the long-run. The company wants employees to stick around and move up within company jobs.<\/p>\n

Available positions include kitchen staff with an average salary of $33,000, service manager with $36,000, apprentice with $53,000, and general manager with $67,000. There is also a small pool of \u00ab\u00a0restaurateurs,\u00a0\u00bb who average between $125,000-133,000 per year. Restaurateurs enjoy the added benefits of company cars and stocks. Only 500 of those positions are currently with\u00a0the company.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Roughly 190 and 205 new locations are expected to open in 2015 added to the 1,800 currently operating.<\/p>\n

To promote national career day, Chipotle will begin an ad campaign on social media and music streaming sites\/applications.<\/p>\n

Interviews are on a first-come-first-serve basis and interested applicants are expected to apply online at NationalCareerDay.com for an available spot at a location of their choice.\u00a0\"Sintel<\/a><\/p>\n
