\"amazon<\/a>Amazon, the largest e-commerce company, is launching same-day deliver for Prime Members in 14 cities including Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Annual prime members who make a purchase of over $35 dollars prior the noon cutoff, should expect delivery before 9 p.m the same day. Operating seven days a week, prime members will be able to order more than a million items ranging from books to electronics.<\/p>\n

Previously tested in select markets for a fee of $5.99 for prime members and $8.99 for regular customers, which will continue for regular members and prime purchases less than $35.<\/p>\n

Large retailers lack the foundation for such a massive operation, even though it is a market sector many are eager to penetrate.<\/p>\n

After a substantial increase of same day purchases over the 2014 holiday season, the company decided it was ready to launch a bigger operation.<\/p>\n

Boasting 109 warehouses worldwide, fifty of which have been built in the last four years, Amazon has brought products closer to consumers making same day delivery possible.<\/p>\n

Google is Amazons toughest competition thus far in the race for same day delivery. Costing $95 a year, Google Express Service offers customers same-day-delivery for purchases over $15 dollars. Only qualified items apply.<\/p>\n

Others competing for market share include Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, and some start ups.<\/p>\n

From its inception Amazon has aimed at speeding up delivery.<\/p>\n

Other metropolitan areas being serviced are Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Indianapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle-Tacoma, Tampa Bay and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
