It is almost one month until The Taste of Chicago! There is nothing like the Taste where you can sample from 35 different Chicago restaurants all in one place.
The Taste of Chicago began in July 4th, 1980. They were expecting 75,000 people for the one-day event, but they could have never imagined 250,000 people would show up. The event grossed $330,000 in food and soda sales and it only lasted one day!
The Taste of Chicago is now one of the largest tourist attractions in Illinois. Of course the crowd favorites Eli’s Cheesecake , Original Rainbow Cone , Connie’s Pizza and Gold Coast Dogs will be in attendance.
But look out for some newcomers like Bombay Spice Grill & Wine , Flip Crepes , Lao Ma La Chinese and Wishbone Restaurant .
All day 30 different Chicago bands will play at the Bud Light Stage such as Mingo Fishtrap, The Company of Thieves and Kelly Hogan just to name a few. While you enjoy amazing food, you also get to listen to great music. What can be better?
The Taste of Chicago will take place at Grant Park (Jackson and Columbus) on July 10- 14th from 11am-9pm each day, with ticket sales ending at 8:30. While Admission is free, food and beverage tickets are sold in stripes 12 tickets for $8.
Hopefully if the very unprediticable Chicago weather holds up, this may be another Taste of Chicago to go down in the record books.
