Attempting to revitalize the way consumers discover music Starbucks is partnering with Spotify to create a “music ecosystem” and of course reward loyal customers.
The multi year partnership will bring together an exclusive music platform and 10 million My Starbucks Rewards users to create a digital environment.
Expected to roll out this fall, seven thousand Starbucks locations in the US await the launch in phases followed by Canada and the UK.
All US employees will receive premium subscriptions as part of the deal, which will help shape in-store music programming. Employee playlists will be available through the Starbucks app for streaming.
Starbucks Loyalty members receive points for subscribing to a Spotify Premium account.
Starbucks will promote subscriptions while Spotify endorses a section for Starbucks playlists on their popular music. All Spotify users will be able to stream Starbucks Playlists.
